A Notre-Dame day

Brian Hickey just emailed photos of the pre-fire spire, taken by a friend in 2017. Brian was just in Paris himself last month, pre-disaster surfing.

Notre-Dame cathedral, Paris, France. Summer of 2017. Click image to enlarge.

Coincidentally, I was looking at this painting today, at the Art Gallery of Ontario.

The Bridge of the Archbishop and the Apse of Notre-Dame, Armand Guillaumin, 1888

The painting is part of the AGO show covered in the next post. Click the photo for a closer look.

  1. Brian has synchronicity.

Sad for Paris and the world. The beams were huge trees that no longer exist.
250 tons of lead will take some clean up.
The wonderful windows and pipe organ will be missed.
